10/8/09 - URI Recycling calls for talentHave you got talent? Can you sing, dance or play a musical instrument? How about juggling? Can you read a story, tell some jokes or perform a poem or scene from a play?

If you can, here's your chance to perform for the University of Rhode Island community! This year, URI will celebrate its first Campus Sustainability Day.

The event will be held on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Informational tables on topics of sustainability will be available all day. There will also be food and sustainable vendors.

Sarah Kite, recycling manager at the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, will be the keynote speaker. Surprise speakers will be there as well.

Now all we need is you. Please sign up for a performance spot between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. by emailing recycle@etal.uri.edu or calling (401) 874-2840.

Looking forward to seeing you on stage.

Nancy Hawksley

URI Recycling Coordinator
