Letter: Student says cap and gown policy unfair
Issue date: 4/9/08 Section: Editorial/Opinion
04/09/08 - To the Cigar,
So I'm checking my e-mail and I get a wonderful one reminding me that I'm about to graduate in a month. My first feeling was one of mild excitement, but as I read through the letter it diminished rather quickly. "Dress in Conventional Graduation Regalia: Please be sure to pick up your cap and gown at the URI Bookstore very soon. Your student ID will be required for purchase."
Wow, what a slap in the face. After bleeding me out nearly $80,000 during the course of four years, I can't even attend graduation unless I'm garbed in something I MUST purchase from the URI Bookstore.
Where's the free cap and gown? Why can't URI just do something, anything, to congratulate its students?
Well URI administration, thank you once again for absolutely nothing.
