Anyone who wishes to contest the election results must submit the challenge in writing no later than Wednesday, March 5 at noon to Senate Coordinator Kim Bolton or any member of the Elections Committee - Ryan Battis, Cristin Langworthy, Nicole Pelletier, Maria Rice, or Audrey Ruskowski - in Room 201 of the Memorial Union.

For the written challenge to be valid, it must include the complainant's contact information, explain the basis of contention and cite the specific bylaws or rules that were broken. The Elections Committee will interpret the submissions and decide a course of action. Its decision may be appealed within three days to the Rules and Ethics Committee.

After the challenge period, the committee will contact any student who has won a seat to confirm his or her eligibility and acceptance of that seat. Any ties will be broken by an internal election by the current senate.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the polls and voted in this election and the previous election for at-large and academic representatives.

If you did not win a seat that you wanted to, regret that you didn't declare your candidacy, or could not make the full time commitment, you can still become involved with your student government. The senate is always looking for members to participate with its open standing committees: Academic Affairs, Campus Affairs, Cultural Affairs and External Affairs.

If you have any questions about the elections or what senate has been up to lately, just stop by our office in Room 201 of the Memorial Union.
