Editorial: Students still need to consider Darfur in upcoming election

02/15/08 - Yesterday, President George W. Bush told the British Broadcasting Corporation that he did not send United States troops into Darfur because he did not want Americans in another Middle Eastern country. Bush called the conflict in Sudan a genocide and told the BBC that it was a seminal decision during his presidency.

02/15/08 - To the Cigar, Although we appreciate any attention that can be brought to the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, the letter written in Tuesday's issue of the Cigar, "URI graduate student says more should be done for sexual assault victims," is written from an extremely uninformed perspective.

Letter: Student angered in light of student apathy about hand scanning at URI dining halls

02/15/08 - To the Cigar, I am writing this letter to follow up on the letters I wrote last semester regarding the hand geometry scanners that are being used in the dining halls at this university. It appears that University of Rhode Island dining services and the administration have won a victory over the apathetic student body.
