01/31/08 - Just three weeks after the University of Dayton handed the men's basketball team its first Atlantic 10 loss of the season, the Rams will lace up the kicks for a 2 p.m. matinee with the Flyers Saturday.

"We owe Dayton a little payback," junior Kahiem Seawright said.

Much ado has been made of the Rams' high-powered offense this season, but against the Flyers Saturday defense will be key, especially stopping the three.

"[We need to] play better defense, we could focus on a couple things we need to do, but the main thing is for us to run, and when we don't get stops, we can't run," Seawright said.

Sophomore Lamonte Ulmer also feels that the defense will be critical, especially early after the Flyers shot 74.1 percent from the floor in the first half of the Jan. 9 meeting.

"We're at home, this is our house, we've got to lock them down right away and from there it's going to be a dogfight after that," Ulmer said. "We've got to be aware of the ball, we've got to talk, we've got to know our personnel, and no open threes."

The big advantage the Rams have Saturday is that they will be at home where they are a perfect 10-0 on the season.

"I have more confidence at home than on the road, like we have our fans and they root us on, so we feel comfortable at home, but we can't feel too comfortable, we still have to be hungry," Ulmer said.

Seawright shared some of the same sentiments, as he feels that "once we step on the Ryan Center floor its on with anybody."

While it was great for the Rams to get the win last night over Richmond, the team will have to quickly move on to preparing for Dayton.

"You don't have a lot of time to linger, because you have the next game coming up," coach Jim Baron said. "You know we're looking forward to it and it's going to be a quick turnaround."
