Letter: Reader contributes more R.I. silver screen appearances

01/24/08 - To the Cigar,
I wanted to write and respond to the article "Rhode Island on the silver screen" and add the movie "Hard Luck," that was filmed entirely in Rhode Island in November 2005 and included four days of shooting at URI's W. Alton Jones Campus.
This movie was released on DVD in 2007 and starred Wesley Snipes and Cybill Shepherd and was directed by Mario Van Peebles. The film intertwines stories involving a drug dealer trying to go straight and a housewife trying to hide a sadistic secret. For those with an interest in things Rhode Island, this is one you won't want to miss.
Also, scenes from the 2007 movie "Underdog" were shot at the URI Providence Campus.
