02/27/09 - On Wednesday night a new figure was unveiled in front of thousands of spectators in the Ryan Center. A newly rejuvenated Rhody the Ram pranced on the courts ready to usher in the new fans and a new era for URI sports as the old one left with a suitcase.

Dear Rhody Fans: I just wanted to drop you all a quick note to say thank you for all of the support and the incredible turnout for Wednesday's University of Rhode Island men's basketball game versus Dayton. I can't stress it enough - the student body is tremendously important.
02/27/09 - In a previous letter I chastised the URI student body for its lack of support for their basketball team. Well, after attending last night's Dayton game, I can surely say that you guys came out in force and drove the guys on to a rousing and inspiring victory.
02/27/09 - To the Cigar, The comment made by Lynne Derbyshire in the article "Arming Campus Police Evokes Mixed Opinions" is simply absurd. Any student at URI in danger from an armed police officer has only one person to blame, themselves. Be them colored, white or otherwise, the situations that lead officers to draw their weapons are not situations that any URI student should be in.
02/27/09 - To the Cigar, While I was unable to attend the forum concerning this matter, many of the comments that I have read seem deeply disturbing and ignorant and I can only hope that the panel, in good judgement, will take them with a grain of salt.
02/27/09 - You wake up, hit snooze a few times, turn on your computer and check your e-mail. Maybe you sign on to Facebook but hey, nothing interesting is happening at 7:30 a.m. Classes come and go, your cell phone is constantly beeping with new text messages, voicemails and maybe e-mails, but if you've got a BlackBerry, those can easily be checked.
