11/18/08 - On Friday, David Smith, the executive director of Rhode Island Emergency Agency, discussed the importance of emergency preparedness to University of Rhode Island students and others. Students enhanced their knowledge about emergency systems throughout Rhode Island, and how they are advancing.
11/18/08 - The University of Rhode Island Indian Student Association held its annual Diwali Celebration on Saturday night in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Guests were welcomed with the distinctive scent of curry and spices, as colorful Christmas lights and spotlights colored various parts of the ballroom.
11/18/08 - Junior Jim Elliott, freshman John Collins and sophomore Matt Tallett, members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity collected trash around campus, doing their part to help the University of Rhode Island in its efforts to "go green."
