11/14/08 - After finishing last season with a 13-18 record, the University of Rhode Island women's basketball team will open its season today, hoping to improve. "I think this year our goals are to exceed the win total from last year and to grow our young players and give them more experience," head coach Tom Garrick said.
11/14/08 - Coming off of a 5-4 overtime win, the University of Rhode Island Rams hockey team split their weekend matchup against the University of Scranton Royals. The Rhody Rams won 4-1 Friday, but lost the scoring frenzy between both teams 8-7 on Saturday.
11/14/08 - The University of Rhode Island women's volleyball team earned a split last weekend as it went on the road to face the Duquesne University Dukes (3-1) and the Saint Louis University Billikens (3-0). On Wednesday it defeated Providence College on the road (3-0).
11/14/08 The University of Rhode Island men's soccer team took down University of North Carolina-Charlotte, 2-1, on Friday night in its seventh overtime game of the season, but lost to Saint Louis University, 5-0, on Sunday. The Rams were still able to earn an Atlantic 10 tournament birth thanks to a tricky scenario.
