10/21/08 - On Sunday, results from weekly water sample tests confirmed that a portion of the University of Rhode Island's water supply is contaminated with fecal coliform bacteria, a form of E. coli. As a result, a water advisory urging students and faculty members not to drink tap water was issued.
10/21/08 - Do ghost and spirits really exist? Last night some University of Rhode Island students got a hands-on lesson on how the professionals gather evidence to prove that there are things that go bump in the night. The URI Student Entertainment Committee hosted Ghost Chasers International representatives Patti Starr and Chip Coffey last night in the Memorial Union Ballroom for a lecture and campus ghost hunt.
10/21/08 - Rhody, Rhody, Rhody! RAMS, RAMS, RAMS! The University of Rhode Island Homecoming 2008 was a homecoming to remember. It all started with the wake-up calls from outside the dorms. At around 10 a.m., a group of homecoming volunteers drove around campus shouting, "Wake up Rhody!" into megaphones as the homecoming festivities began.
10/21/08 - After six weeks of hard work and practice, the University of Rhode Island Ballroom Dancing Club competed at the University of Connecticut last Saturday. Seven members of the club left campus for the all-day competition at 7 a.m. For most of the dancers, it was their first time competing with only a few weeks of experience under their belts.
10/21/08 - For years, the volunteer-based Kingston Fire Department has been recruiting students from the University of Rhode Island to fill their available positions. The department took Friday as an opportunity to recruit new student firefighters during a demonstration they provided in front of the Memorial Union, showing passersby how to extricate a car.
