04/23/08 - During a hearing yesterday on a bill that would allow Rhode Island public campus police to carry guns, R.I. Senate Judiciary Committee Vice Chairman Charles Levesque said that the R.I. Board of Governors powers over those officers are a privilege.
04/23/08 - Student Action for Sustainability sponsored an Earth Day Festival on the Quadrangle yesterday to celebrate the environment and promote renewable energy practices in Rhode Island. The student group sponsored the event during a cloudless spring day.
04/23/08 - Narragansett residents complained about University of Rhode Island students a lot less this year, according to Narragansett police officer Robert Storme. Storme, who attended the Narragansett-URI Coalition meeting last night in the Memorial Union, reported that as of April 22 last year, there were 669 complaints from Narragansett residents.
04/23/08 - Sophomore Matt Zrada of the men's swim team, surrounded by other members of the men's and women's swim and diving teams, calls to the masses on the Quadrangle yesterday in an attempt to persuade students to sign a petition protesting the Athletic Department's decision to cut men's tennis, men's swimming and diving and women's field hockey.
