11/15/07 - The University of Rhode Island men's ice hockey team (11-4) was dealt a dose of reality this weekend as it was swept by the Penn State Nittany Lion Icers (12-1-2). The Rams, who defeated Penn State to win the National Championship two years ago, found themselves on the short end of 5-1 and 4-1 decisions on Friday and Saturday night, respectively.
11/15/07 - The University of Rhode Island women's hockey team split a pair of games this past weekend. On Saturday the Rams defeated Plymouth State University, 7-2, in Plymouth, N.H. On Sunday they lost to Norwich University, 4-1, in Northfield, Vt. Head coach Beth McCann said she was pleased with the team's performance on Saturday.
11/15/07 - After losing to Xavier University (3-0) Friday and the University of Dayton (3-0) Saturday, the University of Rhode Island volleyball team lost the three-way tiebreaker for the final two spots in the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament, ending its season.
