11/14/07 - University of Rhode Island officials unveiled yesterday a comprehensive emergency notification system yesterday, which they hope will be fully operational by the end of this month. The system is capable of warning the entire URI community about everything from class cancellations to serious emergencies similar to the Virginia Tech shooting.
11/14/07 - After the Boston Red Sox swept the Colorado Rockies in the World Series last month, the University of Rhode Island's Campus Police was ready for any overzealous celebration. Instead, the police dealt with a few minor incidents such as garbage can fires and one Dumpster fire.
11/14/07 - The fraternities and sororities at the University of Rhode Island raised about $9,000 for the Rhode Island Coalition of the Homeless last week during its annual Philanthropy Week.

"I personally feel that if anyone insists that his or her point of view is the only point of view that should exist, this will lead to instances of violence," Xu said through an interpreter.
