10/10/07 - Judith Shapiro, an author and professor from American University, lectured yesterday at Chafee about the environmental problems China is facing today and what implications they have for the rest of the world.
10/10/07 - As of yesterday, the University of Rhode Island's Student Senate had not appointed students to at least 11 committees where students are supposed to hold seats. Yesterday senate President Neil Leston, who assumed his position in March, acknowledged he could not explain the responsibilities of nine of the committees he is supposed to recommend student representatives for.
10/10/07 - Sometimes checks get washed in jean pockets or lost and torn among stacks of bills. Most people try to get their lost money back, but others let it happen, letting the money go by wayside. The University of Rhode Island has checks that haven't been cashed throughout the years.
10/10/07 - Dr. Mary Lou Fultz, a forensic chemist from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, was featured last Friday in the Forensic Science Seminar Series held in Pastore Hall. The lecture was aimed at explaining the finer points of evidence collection, preservation and quality, specifically from the scene of a fire or explosion.
