Whether you cheer for the University of Rhode Island, Brown University or neither, Saturday's spectacular 49-42 double-overtime URI victory was not only a great game to watch for the 6,153 people in attendance, but also for football fans in general. It was exciting, dramatic, evenly matched and, most of all, entertaining from start to finish.
The University of Rhode Island men's ice hockey team started its season with a pair of victories, winning 6-2 on Friday and 10-1 on Saturday. The young Rams got a little bit of a scare in game one, falling behind 2-1 in the second period. However, Rhody junior Cory Manley tied the game with 5:34 to go in the second period on a power play goal, assisted by junior Jon Biliouris and junior Jon Pinheiro.
