Spring Break
04/04/07 - A little ranting, a little reviewing ... If I piss you off, confuse you or make you want to tear this newspaper in pieces, I've done my job. If I make you laugh, I guess that's OK, too. That's the purpose of my column. Call me old-fashioned and lame, but I've always been a hopeless romantic at heart.
04/04/07 - The Snake The Cross The Crown has an interesting name and an even more interesting album. The Snake The Cross The Crown released its third album, Cotton Teeth, March 20 on Equal Vision Records. You wouldn't think that Huntsville, Ala. would be the birthplace of an indie-folk rock band, but that is, in fact, where this band started.
04/04/07 - Hawkins Rise is a Rhode Island indie rock band on the rise with the release of its new album, What We're Like and Who We've Turned Out To Be. This album is a culmination of seven years of hard work and dedication. Hawkins Rise formed in 1999 when two high school friends met at a coffee shop and decided to form a band.
04/04/07 - Human Giant. Some name for a television show, right? What could it possibly be about? Maybe a reality series? Maybe a sitcom? Maybe a drama? Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on your TV taste) Human Giant is none of the above. MTV's newest series, which debuts tomorrow, is a collection of short comedy skits that are supposed to be hilarious.
04/04/07 - It's time for another look at A Tribe Called Quest. Granted, I've written a number of articles about them and given them praise in every one, but I think that they deserve all the positive input and comments they can get. The Tribe has redefined the image of hip-hop, proving that showing intelligence can be helpful when dealing with the problems of troubled urban youth.
