02/27/04 - Question: What happens when you give about 50 University of Rhode Island students $675,000? Answer: A $775,000 bill. The URI Student Senate has dug itself into a $100,000 budget deficit, after a budgeting process where the senate switched from giving groups money they didn't ask for to asking groups to hold off on asking for some money until next year.
02/27/04 - To the Cigar, In recent days I have walked around the University of Rhode Island campus talking to people I know about gay marriage. Everyone I have talked to has simply said that homosexuals should have the right to marry, it just makes sense.
02/27/04 - To the Cigar, In the editorial of the Cigar on February 26th I read the article written by Marcus Ross titled, "Same-Sex marriages not an equal rights issue, should be banned". Within this editorial Ross illustrates the reasons as to why same-sex marriages should not be aloud in our country.
02/27/04 - To the Cigar, Marcus Ross, in his recent opinion of the regulation of same-sex marriages, made the same mistake as every other pundit trying to push for the abolishment of gay marriage: assuming that he could truly understand the other side of the argument.
02/27/04 - To the Cigar, I just wanted to comment on Marcus Ross' ill-reasoned recent publication on same-sex marriage. I particularly would like to comment on these two quotes from Marcus' publication: Marcus wrote, "What's to stop a 42-year-old man from "marrying" his 15-year-old boyfriend?" The law, Marcus, would stop such a silly thing.
