12/03/04 - A standing room only crowd of more than 900 filled Edwards Auditorium last night to see Full House star Bob Saget perform a routine of vulgar and obscene comedy.

"It's great to see we have a 'Full House' tonight. Sorry, I had to do it," Marianne Sierk, Saget's opening act, said.

However, Sierk was not well received by the audience. Throughout her set, she had to compete with heckling audience members eager to see Saget. During her last joke, she was urged offstage by a chant of "We want Bob!"

Saget came out to a standing ovation. He immediately began swearing as he explained that he was not a dirty comedian, which caused even more laughter.

"I'm lowering the bar and you guys keep limboing under it," Saget replied.

Saget interacted with the audience, especially freshman Colleen Griffin who made various signs for Saget.

Signs reading "Come to our room and fill our house" and "I want to tell my kids that I met their daddy" cracked Saget up.

Saget also singled out Pat, a Rhode Island College student, and a "ball shaver" named Brian.

Saget told Pat, "It's not the size of your penis it's how much you talk about it."

Saget asked Brian, "Why do you shave your testicles sir? For fun? That's your idea of fun? You could watch TV or play air-hockey," Saget joked.

Some audience members were surprised to hear Saget joke about subjects such as pedophilia and sex.

"It's going to be a little weird seeing him act all dirty because he's a daddy on TV," sophomore Lauren Skinner said before the show.

"A lot of girls come up to me and go, 'You know, I grew up watching you,' and I go, 'Good, now you're going to go down watching me,'" Saget said.

Many of Saget's jokes came from catcalls and shouts from the crowd.

In one instance, responding to a shouting female audience member, he said, "I call you 'dear' because I'm going to hit you with my car."

In addition to making fun of the audience, Saget made fun of himself. He mentioned his cameo in the movie Half-Baked and his appearance on South Park.

He ended his set by playing acoustic guitar and serenading the audience with dirty song parodies. One song named "Danny Tanner is Not Gay" poked fun at his Full House character to the tune of the Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way."

Saget also performed a snippet of "The Scientist" by Coldplay in an attempt to apologize for taunting a female audience member.

For his encore, Saget performed an original song highlighting some of the funnier interactions with the audience that night. He got the audience to sing in unison, "Pat is an ***hole."

Audience members were left with one thought on their mind. "Bog Saget is the man!" freshman Erinn Tibbetts said.
