Gay marriage is unnatural

03/17/04 - To the Cigar,
While liberal America pushes for federal legalization of gay marriage, its conservative counterpart clearly possesses the majority in opposing it. A recent NY Times poll showed 61 percent of Americans to opposing gay marriage. If such a dichotomy is to be argued as misleading or stereotypical, let us then examine the beliefs of a few more groups.
Of America's three major religious sectors, all object to homosexual marriage. In the Book of Romans of the Christian Bible, Paul writes, "...for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another: men with men." Jewish scriptures then sternly states, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination." Even the Quoran, the Islamic Holy Book, asks, "Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people grossly ignorant!" These quotes, from Holy Books which possess the tenets of 80 percent of America's population and 65 percent of the world's, all clearly oppose homosexuality.
Why then is the majority being labeled "narrow-minded"? It is because both the media and the public school systems have become promoters for a gay subculture. For example, California state employers must promote transexuality as a civil right or risk a $150,000 fine. Foster care parents must take a "diversity" training course that instructs them to support their child's sexual behavior, including cross-dressing. In schools throughout America, many sex-education classes are run by SIECUS, who declare homosexuality to be natural.
Homosexuality, however, is in no way natural. How then can homosexual marriage be? Something unnatural does not perform its proper function. While sex may provide pleasure, its function is to procreate. Gay sex does not do this. It does, however, result in more cases of AIDS than straight sex does. In Holland, where gay marriage has been legal since 2001, HIV has soared among the overall population, with homosexual males representing the increase. The study attributes this to outside lovers which many homosexuals have. I thought marriage was supposed to be monogamous.
And while many will object by noting the success rate of straight marriages to be only 50 percent, they should reconsider their definition of success. If being in a relationship where domestic violence is twice as common as a straight relationship, where the molestation of children is five times more likely than if done by someone straight, where crimes committed by gay partners are done three times more than by straight lovers and reproduction is at zero percent rate, a 100 percent success rate of gay marriage is all the more of a testament to how unnatural that relationship, and thus marriage, is and would be.
Those for gay marriage also attest that gay people are born gay, and that it's not their fault. In arguing this, they are then able to label the gay right to marry as a "civil issue". If people are born gay, then why did a Kinsey Institute study show that 84 percent of gays shifted or changed their sexual orientation at least once? How can a gay marriage between two people be stable and constant when 84 percent of those people changed their minds about what sex they are attracted to. In the process, haven't they changed their criteria for whom they can love, and thus whom they will marry? Gay marriage deprives holy matrimony of its credibility.
Stephen Bennett, a former homosexual who lived the gay lifestyle for 11 years, states, "I said to the CBS producer, 'you will never have a former black man on your show, but today you have a former homosexual.'" Ultimately, the campaign for gay marriage is unnatural, immoral and is based on the misconception that marriage is simply something you do to gratify yourself. The 1960's were the "me" years when easy-sex was common. Then America was given an easy "no-fault" divorce and easy legal abortion in the 1970's. Now in 2004 gay marriage and its legal benefits seem natural when there exists such a large number of people who have agreed to get together for mutual exploitation and self-gratification.
