04/29/08 - America's Cup Room will offer lunch for the last time this Thursday. Because of the lack of recent business and little advertising, the university is closing the restaurant and is unsure what will go in its place. America's Cup Room is a small restaurant located in the corner of the Ram's Den seating area.
04/29/08 - For the second time, the University of Rhode Island has extended the deadline for eligible faculty and staff to claim a $20,000 retirement initiative. As of yesterday, 36 faculty and 29 staff have accepted the offer, whose deadline is now Thursday.
04/29/08 - The Special Olympics of Rhode Island held a Dance-A-Thon in the Memorial Union this past Sunday and raised more than $3,000 through donations for the organization. The Memorial Union ballroom was simply decorated. There were Special Olympic flags hanging on the stage in addition to a recording of the Special Olympics athletes competing at different events.
04/29/08 - I remember the first day that I logged onto the University of Rhode Island homepage and I saw it right there in front of me. I could not contain myself, for this had to be one of the most hilarious acts to ever set foot at our middle-of-nowhere, set-among-cornfields-filled-with-cows-and-chickens university.
04/29/08 - The women's rowing team followed up its first-ever win at the Atlantic 10 Championships last week with a win against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. "I think they rowed OK," head coach Shelagh Donohoe said. "I don't think it was their best race. I think they did what they needed to do to get their bow first."
