02/24/09 -Boy bands. Pop-punk. Metal. Pop princesses. These are the varied sounds of '90s music. While the economy continues in a downward spiral, these varied sounds and their performers seem to be making a comeback as the '90s music recession seems as though it is coming to an end. That means good news for all you fans who knew each and every boy band in existence, ranging from *NSYNC to the Backstreet Boys, to LFO and 98 Degrees, all you fans who jammed to the stylings of Korn and Limp Bizkit in your garage and all you fans who ran naked around your house after seeing the music video for Blink 182's "What's My Age Again?"

It's also lucky for all you girls who covered your walls with Justin Timberlake's magazine pull outs, all you girls who wrote your first name and your favorite BSB members' last name in heart shapes all over your notebooks and all you girls who made up dances for your school talent show to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls and "Genie in a Bottle" by Christina Aguilera.

Fans who believed Carson Daly was the all-knowing God of music, for all you fans who dedicated your weekday afternoons to the TRL daily countdown just to see if "I Want You Back" would take the top spot and all you fans who believed that you would be singing "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" on "Say What? Karaoke," can rejoice.

It also brings joy to fans who knew every "mmm" and every "bop" that Hanson song, and to all you fans who used the lyrics to Shaggy's song "It wasn't Me" as an excuse at one point with your boyfriend or girlfriend. It's for all you fans who declared you would marry your member of a boy band.

The latest resurrection of '90s music and its performers is just plain good news. Music from this time experienced an almost fatal recession as Britney lost her mind - and her hair -- Nick Carter gave in to drugs, Eminem took a sabbatical, Carson Daly disappeared from TRL, Joey Fatone appeared on an episode of Hannah Montana and Travis Barker of Blink 182 was in a plane crash that nearly killed him.

As Wall Street would indicate, the recession was bad. But as we all know, things always get worse before they get better.

Since the 1990s recession struck, we have been faced with just one boy band and one pop princess - the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus. These may be two reasons why the '90s stars knew a comeback was completely necessary.

The comeback started last year as one of the biggest '90s groups, the Spice Girls, announced its reunion tour. They sold out auditoriums, revamped their sound and performed all over. This was just the start to the contagious comeback, as Hanson began to tour, Britney refocused her life, New Kids on the Block started their reunion tour and Eminem came out with his first single in years.

Following the radio release of Eminem's new single was an announcement from Blink 182 at the Grammy Awards that they were back and ready to rock again.

Days later, Perez Hilton announced in his blog that Limp Bizkit was back in the studio as well.

It seems everyone is getting in on the action as New Found Glory has a March 10 release date set for a new album and the Backstreet Boys have provided radio stations with clips of their new song "Hologram."

The music of the '90s is "Stronger" than yesterday. Can it, and will it last? Will 'N Sync give the world the reunion tour that it has been waiting for? Will Mandy Moore bring her "Candy" back to the stage? Will B'Witched bring back their Irish Jig? Only time will tell.
