10/23/08 - To the Cigar,I am writing today to inform the student body about a new group that is starting on campus.

Young Americans for Liberty is a branch of a national organization. The branch originated after the Ron Paul presidential campaign ended because the large amount of supporters did not want to give up.

If you are a college student and you have not taken a look at Ron Paul or heard about some of his ideas I challenge you to do just that. I believe many students on this campus have a hard time defining their political views. I would, too, if I was told I only had two choices. Well that's the problem ... you don't only have two choices.

Young Americans for Liberty is here to help bring the unheard voices to campus. We strongly support individualism, small government, and civil liberties, which all, strangely enough, are supported as well in the Constitution! Wow, what a concept!

We want to uphold the Constitution and help students, and American citizens in general, to gain their voice back.

If any of this is of interest to you keep an eye out for our group on campus because we plan on being very active.

We are doing this for others, not for ourselves. Contact Megan Duffield, megan_duffield@mail.uri.edu for any more questions.

In Liberty,

Megan Duffield
